December 29, 2015

WEVER — The Iowa Fertilizer Co. plant employees came together to raise about $6,000 to give to three Fort Madison charities.

Community Services Food Pantry, PAW Animal Shelter and Emma Cornelius Homeless Shelter in Fort Madison each will receive about $1,900 from money raised among IFC employees and site contractors.

The employees gathered $4,700 in donations, and the company donated $1,000 to be distributed.

According to Darrell Allman, site director for Iowa Fertilizer Co., the donations are part of the
organization’s commitment to support services in Lee County.

Since its plant groundbreaking in 2014, the company has contributed to Wever Fire and Rescue, Ford Madison School District, Burlington Notre Dame schools, United Way, Fort Madison Fourth of July
Celebration, Fort Madison Community Hospital, Southeastern Community College, Donnellson Library and Fort Madison Sports Complex.
